So I was plagiarized.

Apparently the Etsy seller Kristin Berry from NY (MBDWeddings) has plagiarized my wedding invite artwork. Normally I'd be flattered but I'm pissed that she's made money off of it. Also, it's my wedding invite so I would say the artwork is pretty special to me.
Now, when one of my creative managers approached me about the image, I kinda laughed it off because a couple holding hands isn't the most conceptually creative idea, but after I saw it, it's obvious all she did was flip our positions, make their face really ugly and smack a couple poorly designed balloons up top.
I've contacted the seller to remove the listing but she ignored me, so I've reported her to Etsy.

Also I apologized that I haven't posted any art recently. It's just so hard to do art all day then go home and make more art! But I will try to be better.....someday....

Spring/Easter freelance preview

I just finished a freelance job a week ago for easter....It's so overly saturatedly (word?) cute that I had a tooth ache afterwards.

Oh yeah, check out those bright colors.

Here's a little preview of an easter puzzle I worked on. I'll post the rest after Easter. Sometimes I had to have my husband look at the work because I became immune to the cuteness and needed him to confirm if the bunny sitting on top of easter eggs was adorable or not.

Hello! I did these icons for a company last year! 

My first children's book?

I hope everyone had amazing holidays!

Soo...my wacom tablet has been broken for over a month now. I was working on a freelance assignment, which was two puzzles and 14 icons. The wacom tablet broke after the first puzzle. If it wasn't for my husband's friend who teaches art, I would've been DOOMED.

But want to see some of my recent freelance work? This is a children's book I helped with, I don't know when it'll be published, but I believe it'll be one of those Target dollar aisle children's books.

Color study

When I was a junior in college I took a children's book illustration class. We had to make pencils of the book and only complete like two or three pieces so I have all these left over pencils from the class. I've decided in my down time I will finish them! Here's a color study of one of the pencils!

I've arisen from the dead

I am the worst. THE WORST!! I haven't updated in forever!! Not that anyone is following this anymore....

Well, just to give a quick update on my life, I started freelancing for a company and I've made a bunch of puzzles for them, icons, and a childrens book! I was so busy freelancing, that I didn't do any personal art!

I moved to Atlanta to start an internship as a designer in the Home, Gift & Toy department at Carter's!

So it's been a crazy few months my dears. BUT! I will start posting again. I don't have any finish pieces I am allowed to show right now but I've been drawing in my sketch book like mad so tomorrow I will start posting my sketch book again.

To make up for my bad behavior, I will post really embarrassing unfinished art from the past few years. Please, feel free to laugh at me.

I'm sorry there hasn't been any updates! Waaaahhh, I currently don't have a scanner and my photoshop frizzed out BUT ALAS, I have photoshop again (it's been a long, hard month) so please stick out and expect lots of updates soon! 

Pirate ship

I doodled this today before work. I can't tell if I like the first one or the second more and I just realized it needs a pirate flag, haha! But this is based on a super old sketch in my sketch book. I think I am going to start going through all my old sketchbooks and try to execute some of my old ideas!

THESIS UPDATE!!!

Ringling is over! After many all-nighters, tears, starvation, and critiques; my life as an art student is over! Of course I will always consider my somewhat a student because I never want to stop progressing but I am now a professional! (I wish I felt like it...)

I am happy to present my thesis! It was an introduction book to Greek Gods! I want to take each individual characters' story and make a book for them! Or at least a couple of illustrations. I have a lot of plans and ideas though...

There are a couple left but I will update that tomorrow!
